Three year, unrestricted grants of around 10% of current annual turnover are available to youth organisations operating in areas of high deprivation across the UK. For example, an organisation with a turnover of £250,000 may apply for up to £25,000 a year.
UK Youth has opened applications to its UK Youth Fund in partnership with the Pears Foundation. The £10 million fund is intended to strengthen the financial resilience and organisational capacity of small youth and outdoor learning organisations. A total of £10 million is available nationally.
Applications are open to charitable and not-for-profit youth organisations that have been operating for at least two years and have an annual turnover of £500,000 or less. At least 70% of beneficiaries must be aged between eight and 25.
Funding is unrestricted and may be used for core costs, staffing, delivery or organisational development linked to frontline youth work. Eligibility is based on the communities served. Activity must support young people living in local authority areas ranked within the top three deciles of the Index of Multiple Deprivation. A full list of eligible local authority areas is available from the UK Youth website.
