Take the Lead Grants for Community Projects

The Take the Lead programme is a new initiative that offers grants between £500 and £1,500 for projects, events, or activities that explore how data can support health and wellbeing within your local community.

The programme is designed to support community-led ideas and engage groups that are typically underrepresented in health data science, particularly those working with:

•    People disadvantaged in terms of income
•    Minority ethnic communities

Tips for engaging in policy work

Trust for London have shared their 5 tips for small frontline organisations looking to engage in policy work, featuring the case study of the journey of a London charity, Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL).

This resource aims to provide a source of advice for organisations who are struggling to balance strains on cost, capacity and staff wellbeing with frontline work, with 5 practical tips including investing in impact measurement to embedding policy in casework.

St Mary Abbots Rehabilitation and Training (SMART) are hosting The Bi-Borough Wide Meeting - a community event for residents of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster, focused on wellbeing, connection, and local services.

Every October, World Mental Health Day marks a reminder of the importance of mental health and the need for accessible support. This year's theme - Access to services in emergencies - shines a light on the importance of ensuring mental health support is available to everyone, especially during times of crisis. 

RBKC Young Leaders Awards

Free Wellbeing Workshops – Supporting Emotional Health

The Recovery & Wellbeing College (CNWL), in collaboration with St Mary Abbots Church (W8 4LA), is hosting a series of wellbeing workshops designed to support emotional health and resilience:

These workshops provide practical tools and insights to strengthen mental and emotional wellbeing - something we all need in today’s busy world.

Launch of the new London Resilient Communities programme

You’re invited to the programme’s online launch event on Thursday 25 September 10–11am.

Speaking at the event will be Professor Lucy Easthope who is the UK’s leading authority on recovering from disasters. Lucy works with communities after major tragedies both here in the UK as well as internationally. She has been advisor on nearly every major disaster of the past two decades. Lucy featured on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs in June this year.
