KCSC are the regional partner for an organisation called Feeding Britain. They are calling on the government to extend the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme through to the next general election. Funding has not yet been guaranteed beyond 2025, and Feeding Britain are asking for people who understand the importance of the programme to sign and circulate this petition which supports provision of meals and activities for children and young people during school holidays.
The petition cites research that shows the impact of the programme; that for every £1 invested in the HAF programme, there is a return of £8 in broader social value. Children and young people who are at risk of finding themselves without support and structure outside of school term-time can benefit hugely from this vital support.
