Grants of up to £20,000 over 12 months are available to constituted, non-profit organisations and groups to provide activities and opportunities exclusively for individuals and families eligible for Grenfell Community Support.
Context for the Grenfell Community Activities funding:
In January 2025, the council launched Grenfell Community Support, a programme for residents who live within 500m of Grenfell Tower or lived there at the time of the tragedy.
The support is for 4 years starting in January 2025 and includes:
• A household wellbeing grant for people who lived in the area at the time of the tragedy
• A free Kensington Leisure centre membership
• The support of a community advocacy team; and
• A programme of community activities
A Community Activities pilot was launched in May to provide community activities over the summer period.
Following extensive work with the residents' Operational Steering Group (OSG), the main Community Activities programme has been designed to meet residents' priorities. Two commissioning rounds will take place each year for the next three years.
For this first round, applications from organisations that will be able to launch their project quickly are encouraged.
A second funding round will open in February/March.
Eligibility requirements for applicants:
Applicants must be constituted organisations with:
• A bank account in the organisation's name.
• Financial arrangements requiring two unrelated people to authorise payments.
Eligible organisations include:
• Charities.
• Community Interest Companies (CICs).
• Residents' associations.
• Faith groups.
• Voluntary and community sector organisations.
Applicants should demonstrate:
• A strong understanding of the Grenfell community and the impact of the tragedy.
• Established connections with local residents.
• Experience of delivering similar projects successfully.
• The ability to deliver positive outcomes.
Successful applicants will be required to provide relevant policies, DBS checks, risk assessments, licences and appropriate insurance cover before funding is released.
Type of projects:
The programme will fund a range of activities that collectively address residents' four priority areas:
• Wellbeing, relaxation and wellness activities.
• Group day trips.
• Creative activities, such as arts, crafts, cooking or gardening.
• Physical activities not already covered through the Leisure Centre membership offer.
All projects, except day trips, must be delivered within Notting Dale. The delivery organisations however, can be from outside the area.
Activities must be:
• delivered between November 2026 and October 2027.
• free for residents.
• exclusively for people eligible for Grenfell Community Support.
• inclusive, accessible and culturally sensitive.
The total budget for this funding round is £125,000.
Organisations can apply for:
• Up to £20,000 for projects lasting 12 months (or pro rata for shorter projects).
• Between £2,500 and £5,000 for one-off projects.
Funding must be used solely to deliver the approved activity or project.
Partnership bids with up to 3 organisation are eligible. The lead partner must submit the application
Applications:
Applications will be assessed by an evaluation panel comprising OSG members, Notting Dale ward councillors and Council officers.
Key dates:
• 23 September: Recommended submission date to allow time for officers to request any additional information.
• 30 September: Application deadline.
• 21 October: Applicants notified of outcomes.

Council officers will be available to answer questions at the Grenfell Education Hub on:
• Tuesday 15 September, 3.00pm to 5.30pm
• Thursday 17 September, 5.15pm to 7.45pm
