This fund will build on the mayor's wider commitment to ensure every young person feels safe and supported, connected to their community, and has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. This fund aims to deliver at least one late-night youth club in every London borough. Funding will help youth clubs to stay open later and longer, giving young Londoners a safe place to go on weekday evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
A total of over £30 million will be made available over the course of this programme. There is no minimum or maximum award amount specified.
Groups must:
- Be a voluntary or community sector organisation.
- Have a track record for delivering meaningful, impactful youth work, with the appropriate safeguarding policies and insurance in place.
One lead organisation will be supported per London borough.
Funding will help youth clubs to:
- Stay open later into the evenings on weekdays and weekends, and during school holidays.
- Offer more sports, creative activities, and even gaming.
- Provide mentoring and support from trusted adults.
- Help young people build skills for their future.
- Give young people a safe, reliable place to go.
