This programme aims to provide groups with little or no trading income with flexible funding and practical support to kickstart a trading idea, turn ideas into income, and build long-term resilience.
This programme aims to leave groups with:
- A tested or launched trading offer.
- A clear pricing, sales, and marketing plan.
- Stronger systems and financial confidence.
- New buyer connections and a supportive peer network.
- Improved organisational resilience, less reliance on grants, and a better ability to plan for the future.
Successful groups will receive two grants:
Set Up Grants can be used to kickstart a trading idea and get moving quickly. Eligible costs include:
- Paying staff time or backfill to free up capacity.
- Testing a new product or service.
- Marketing and communications, such as a website or design assets.
- Buying equipment and materials.
- Increasing delivery or volunteer capacity.
Match Trading Grants will then match the organisation’s trading income over 18 months. This will be paid every quarter, up to £2,000 per quarter. Trading income includes selling goods, fees for workshops, training or consultancy, room hire and rentals, and contracts for services. It does not include grants or donations.
This programme will run between April 2026 and September 2027.
