City Bridge Foundation – Climate and Environmental Justice Programme

Deadline

This fund aims to support work that addresses climate and environmental injustice whilst helping communities to influence longer-term systems change.

In a climate justice context, systems change means addressing the root causes of climate and environmental inequality by shifting policies, practices, power dynamics, relationships, and underlying narratives that shape people's lives, whilst investing in the long-term capacity of communities most affected by heat, damp, mould, pollution, flooding, and lack of access to nature, to influence and transform the systems around them.

A total of £5.6 million is available in this round of funding. Core grants of between £125,000 and £450,000 across five years (depending on organisational income) are available.

To apply, groups must:

  • Be community-led, accountable to, or deeply embedded in, the communities the organisation serves. This should be evident in leadership, decision-making structures, or long-term relationships with these communities.
  • Work with communities that are most affected by climate and environmental injustice, including those facing inequality linked to income, race, disability, migration status, or age.
  • Be able to demonstrate a track record of working with affected communities.
  • Have an organisational income of between £50,000 and £1.5 million.
