Kamitan Arts Poetry Trail 14 July – 4 August 2025

Submitted by atiya raja on

The Poetry Trail for Kamitan Arts' inaugural Kensington and Chelsea Poetry Fringe has commenced.

Between 14 July - 4 August 2025 you can visit up to 18 venues throughout the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to read a poem written by a local grassroot poet on Kamitan Arts' carefully chosen timely theme of: EQUITY! For a number of years Kamitan Arts' focus has been to prioritise RBKC marginalised voices and opening up paid opportunities for our local grassroots artists which they have been advocating for and have now began to bring the vision into fruition. Breaking boundaries with 4 intergenerational paid poetry commissions, engaging with more marginalised communities and introducing them to poetry, creating a more inclusive selection process that takes into consideration one's physical/learning ability and language barriers as well as prioritises RBKC entries as precedent.

The Poems are displayed across 18 various venues throughout the borough including: cafe's, theatres, community centres, art galleries, youth centres, a faith-based temple and museums!
