Goldfinger - Quickstart: Impact Team Assistant

As part of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea’s Quickstart Scheme, we are looking for an energetic and organised team member to provide company wide- support, with a focus on our Impact programmes.

This role will suit a team player who is passionate about social impact, sustainable design, and customer service, who can join us for a period of at least 6 months.

With support and leadership from the Community & Outreach Manager, you will assist in delivering our impact programmes, and support activity in our showroom. With these learning experiences and skills, you will be in a better position to move on to your next career step; Goldfinger will support you with this transition as appropriate.

This role is offered as part of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea’s Quickstart Scheme. In order to be eligible for this role, you must be:
16-30 years old
Unemployed, or in low-wage or insecure employment
RBKC resident / RBKC care leaver / RBKC school leaver

Reports to: Community & Outreach Manager
Direct reports: n/a
Working pattern: 25 hours to be worked across 3 days a week, including regular weekend work
Contract length: 6 months, with possibility of extension
Salary: London Living Wage

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Impact
Support our impact team to successfully deliver our outreach activities
Assist with the planning and running of Academy events, craft classes, traineeships, and courses, including:
Distribute invitations to our events both in person and electronically
Create visuals for our programme using Photoshop or Canva
Upkeep list of contacts to local schools, community and youth groups using our CRM system
Assist with purchasing for Impact programmes
Basic bookkeeping in accordance with our finance systems
Assist in the delivery of Academy programmes including workshop group visits and craft classes
Assist with creating feedback forms and monitoring social impact
Support the coordination of our monthly People’s Kitchen service by;
Assisting with onboarding volunteers to People’s Kitchen
Liaising with People’s Kitchen volunteers to coordinate volunteers for each service

Showroom and Retail
Act as a brand ambassador for Goldfinger while working in the Goldfinger showroom and at pop-up events, with excellent brand awareness, product knowledge and customer service
Greet and engage with customers, process retail transactions in store and at pop-ups, including gift wrapping items as needed
Support in-store ‘happenings’ and collaborations, support ‘pop-up’ events

Other
File management on Google Drive, ensuring files are organised efficiently
Occasional assisting with photoshoots (for example buying props or clearing showroom)
Attending Goldfinger events and capturing content for social media
Other tasks as they crop up

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential skills, experience and qualifications
An energetic individual, keen to contribute ideas and enhance processes
Keen to learn about how a design based social enterprise works
An interest in sustainability and positive social impact
Organised, detail-orientated with the ability to manage multiple projects
Friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Confidence working across IT suites, including a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite (or a willingness to learn)
Ability to work independently and as part of team
Strong communication skills
Some customer service or front of house experience

Desirable skills, experience and qualifications
Experience of working within the charitable/ not for profit sector
Experience of workshop facilitation / teaching
Experience with using multiple software packages (Gsuite, Xero, Shopify, Podio, Adobe Creative Suite)
Lived experience / familiar with the locality (Kensington and Chelsea, specifically Golborne Ward)
