Voluntary Health & Safety Services to Charitable Organisations within RBKC

RBKC's Health and Safety consultant Derisk are seeking to provide voluntary health and safety services to charitable and voluntary organisations within Kensington and Chelsea.
 
This will take the form of workplace assessments to provide your organisations with information about what they are doing well and areas for improvement with regards to Health and Safety and their own legal obligations. Derisk expects to supplement this with the provision of specialist advice and undertaking of specific risk assessments for your activities.

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Regional Outreach Service – Greater London

DBS Regional Outreach Service focuses on working collaboratively with safeguarding and recruiting organisations.

The aim is to work closely with organisations and networks to build and develop relationships, acting as a single point of contact for all DBS related enquiries within their region.

Kiran Rehal is the DBS Regional Outreach Advisor for Greater London and is based in the region. She is available to discuss all matters in relation to DBS, as well as support you and your colleagues in safeguarding and safer recruitment.

Mayor’s Migrant Londoners Hub

The Greater London Authority (GLA) are asking charities with services in London to support them in order to create an online map resource for migrant, refugee and newly arrived communities - with the aim to help them navigate the charities in London in which they can access relevant support to meet their needs.  

By filling out the short survey below, you will be asked to share information about your charity project, including the activities you do. Your input will greatly contribute to this valuable resource.  

RBKC: Kensington and Chelsea Family Hubs

Family Hubs bring together a large range of support for families in one place.

They support families with children aged up to 19, or 25 with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) to get help at the right time.

Support is provided across the borough from two hubs as well as via phone, text or email. There are friendly, experienced and qualified staff on hand to assist you to find the best services for you and your children. Listening to you, RBKC will continue to develop new and improved activities, services and support.

NHS diabetes prevention that is personal to you

Online personal support is now available for people who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, thanks to the new ‘Preventing Diabetes’ website.

The NHS in North West London has launched the website to help the 200,000 people who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes in the area.

Advice Quality Standard (AQS) accreditation support

Trust for London is funding AdviceUK to help smaller organisations and groups working with minority ethnic and marginalised communities in London.

AdviceUK offers free training and intensive 1-1 support to help such organisations and groups improve the quality of the social welfare advice they give. Please note that organisations do not need to be AdviceUK members. In addition to this support, up to 10 organisations will also be able to access funding to offset Advice Quality Standard accreditation costs.

NHS: North Kensington services leaflet and poster

A new service leaflet is being distributed to over 33,000 households and businesses in North Kensington reminding people who live or work in North Kensington and have been affected by the Grenfell Tower fire that the NHS is here to support the community and that there are a wide variety of extra services they can access for free to support their physical health and wellbeing.

Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Barometer Survey

Nottingham Trent University are inviting the VCS to take part in Wave 3 of the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Barometer Survey. 

It is backed by all the major UK national and regional infrastructure organisations and turns around data quickly, to provide timely intelligence to policy-makers and government.  Findings from the Wave 2 survey in February played a major part in securing £100 million in the most recent Budget, which will support VCSE organisations across the country.    

Introducing the BanktheFood app

BanktheFood is a registered charity that are on a mission to ensure food banks always have exactly what they need, when they need it.

Food banks often struggle with effectively communicating their realtime supply and demand needs to their donors.

Social media posts or notices in supermarkets, quickly go out of date or go unnoticed and as a result, food banks can be inundated with one item or have little of another.
