🌟Bookings now available for the event on the 29th of May🌟
The Westway Trust Transformation Funded, Our Community, Our Voice, started in January. It is a rolling programme offering varied meetings and training sessions for the communities of RBKC, focusing mainly on North Kensington. This will be the fourth area of inquiry, and is a community guide to the use and ownership of public land. Here we will examine land, who owns it, the rights-of-the-community, and how it is used. This has been debated ever since the Diggers in 1649, through Woody Guthrie in 1940, and beyond to the campaign surrounding the Flourish Development in North Ken.
This session examines the mapping of public land in North Kensington and community rights to participate in decision-making about the land.
Thursday, 29th of May, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, Baraka, 6, Canalside House, 383 Ladbroke Grove, London W10 5AA
Find out about:
- Who owns the land?
- What are the plans for particular pieces of land?
- What land is potentially available for community spaces?
- The community funds that are available from charges on development
- New rights to community ownership
The session will be led by Richard Lee, of Just Space Community Network (author of The Community-Led Recovery Plan for London), and who is part of the London Land Justice campaign (organisers of The London Land Fair).
Kind regards
