Young People’s Preventive Wellbeing Project

Submitted by Duncan Cordy on

Healthwatch Kensington & Chelsea and Healthwatch Westminster are collaborating on a joint project that follows on from their Young People’s Mental Health work carried out in 2023.

This year’s project aims to co-produce healthy, preventive measures that address the key factors contributing to poor mental health, as highlighted in their 2023 report, and to support prevention among young people aged 18-25 years.

Through hybrid collaborative discussions, Healthwatch will gather young people’s insights and lived experiences to identify what helps prevent mental health challenges before they reach crisis point. The findings will be used to formulate a Young People’s Preventive Wellbeing Toolkit, which will illustrate practical strategies and recommendations designed by and for young people.

The toolkit and summary of findings will be shared with service providers across Northwest London, as well as young people, community organisations, and professionals who work to support young people’s wellbeing.

Interested in taking part?

Healthwatch will be hosting a hybrid focus group event on Friday 13 February from 5pm to 7:30pm to co-produce ideas with young people on preventing mental health crises.

One participant from each borough will receive a £50 Love2Shop Voucher as a “thank you” for volunteering their time.
