Submitted by zina serageldin on

Presented by Volunteer Centre Kensington & Chelsea and Notting Dale Community Champions, in partnership with RBKC’s Black History Month, this free, interactive workshop invites you to explore why Black history matters to everyone — and why it’s more relevant now than ever.

Facilitated by Isis Amlak, this session will take a closer look at:

  • The origins of Black History Month in the UK
  • The legacy of the Race Relations Act on its 60th anniversary
  • The global significance of African and Black contributions to history

Through engaging discussions, group activities, and fun quizzes, participants will reflect on the past, examine the present, and envision a more inclusive future — all aligned with the 2025 theme Standing Firm in Power and Pride.

What to Expect:

  • A welcoming space for dialogue, reflection, and learning
  • Stories and milestones that shaped Black British history
  • Critical insights into race, identity, and equality
