For organisations to function at their best, the teams within them need to be effective. The individuals within teams often bring different skill sets and perspectives, which contribute to the vibrancy of teams, but also bring complex and challenging dynamics. The consultancy I’m offering can support your organisation to explore these dynamics and identify which ones are helpful, and which ones may be getting in the way of working more effectively.
The approach
The Systems-Psychodynamic consultation offers an opportunity to think about how people feel and interact in a work team, how they are organised in a bigger system, and how that impacts on the culture and on taking up roles. It might focus on the leadership effectiveness and the interactions among members of the team; better processes for the attraction or retention of people; engaging with uncertainty and change; and any other areas of organisational life that have important psychological underpinnings.
The general approach is for a consultant to join regular meetings of a natural work group and to pay attention to the attitudes, beliefs, and patterns of relationships and collaboration, and how these, in turn, may influence the performance.
About me
I have over twenty years’ experience of working in the financial sector in client-facing roles across different countries and cultures. I am currently completing the master's course “Consulting and Leading in Organisations: psychodynamic and systemic approaches” held by Tavistock Institute jointly with the University of Essex, and am in a position to offer a short (about 8 sessions) consultation for free as part of my studies. I will work with an extended, well-qualified consultancy team to ensure that the work I deliver is in-line with professional standards of quality throughout.
