Free Birth Education and Healthy Lifestyles Perinatal Programmes starting January 2026

RBKC's Neighbourhood Doulas team have shared information on two free courses for pregnant mums-to-be starting this January 2026.

Birth Education and Advocacy Classes 

A fully-funded antenatal course, completely free and accessible to those who do not have access to private antenatal classes. Kensington & Chelsea pregnant residents can join face-to-face in W10. All other UK pregnant residents can join online through Zoom.

The 5-Week Course Covers:
•    Know Your Options – Birth rights and informed choices
•    Birth Should Not Be Fear Based – Positive birth preparation
•    Mindfulness & Mental Health Tools – Emotional wellbeing support
•    Information & Decision Making – Building confidence through knowledge
•    Confident Parenting & Postnatal Awareness – Preparing for life after birth

These sessions are trauma-informed, inclusive, and designed to complement NHS care. Those attending receive vital education and support that empowers them through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

New classes begin on Wednesday 14 January 2026 from 10.30-12.30 (term time and UK residents only)

Online Healthy Lifestyles Perinatal Programme

A new wellbeing programme for pregnant residents.

Funded by Public Health England, this free 6-week interactive course is designed to support the physical and mental wellbeing of pregnant residents through engaging activities and practical tips.

Classes start on Monday 5 January 2026 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM (term time only)

This programme provides a safe, supportive space for participants to share their experiences, explore healthy lifestyle choices, and set SMART goals for a healthier pregnancy. Each session encourages peer-to-peer support and the opportunity to build lasting connections with others on a similar journey.

Weekly Topics Include:
•    Healthy Habits – Healthy Minds
•    Pregnancy Yoga
•    Nutrition in Pregnancy
•    Live Online Cooking Session – preparing nutritious meals and snacks
•    Thriving in the Fourth Trimester
•    Celebration of Achievements

Participants will explore the benefits of structured goal setting, while reviewing both short- and long-term personal goals in a collaborative and friendly environment.
