Healthy Hearts

Healthy Hearts is a campaign designed to reduce cardiovascular health inequalities 
and encourage residents to take control of their heart health. 

The campaign particularly focuses on:

All adults age 40-74 in Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea, with a particular 
focus on: 
• Men age 40+ 
• Those from Black African, Black Caribbean, South Asian communities as they are 
generally at higher risk of developing CVD (see appendix for context) 

The campaign focuses on promoting: 
NHS Health Checks - available via your GP every 5 years for those age 40-74 
• Smoking cessation and healthy weight support – via the Council’s free One You service 
• Physical activity – via a leisure offer (including gym discount cards) RBKC Sports & Leisure / ActiveWestminster and making small daily habit changes 
• Reducing stress & loneliness – via Wellbeing Hubs: RBKC Wellbeing Hub 
WCC Wellbeing Hub and free local activities and events  
• Seeking out your local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations 
• Monitoring blood pressure – can do so in some of our libraries (Paddington, 
Pimlico, Central, North Ken and Chelsea), pharmacies, GP and VCS
