Charity Excellence research highlight the importance of local infrastructure organisations

Submitted by Duncan Cordy on

New research published by Charity Excellence has given insight into the threats and challenges facing small charities across the UK, and how infrastructure organisations have become more important than ever.

Significant growth in small charities over the last 20 years means that Local Infrastructure Organisations (LIOS) such as us at KCSC, who support those small charities, are more in demand than ever, but financial insecurity amongst other issues means that LIOs are closing at an alarming rate.

The Local Government Association explains the importance of LIOs; enabling representative engagement, empowering smaller VCSE organisations to overcome capacity barriers, and translating council priorities into effective local action.
