CAST's free AI courses and guides

AI courses

Digital support charity CAST has created four free AI self-serve courses, each delivered via a weekly email with information, inspiration and a guided activity designed to help you take small but steady steps to build your skills and confidence with AI.

Two of the courses are suitable for anyone working in a UK charity or social sector organisation: Getting started with AI, and Supporting your organisation with AI. The other two have been designed specifically for leaders of small and medium-sized charities: AI for Leaders: Getting Started, and AI for Leaders: Leading AI in your organisation.

You don’t need any technical skills, just a laptop with internet access and a willingness to have a go. The courses are delivered by email, with a new activity each week, so you can work through the materials at a pace that suits you and revisit them whenever you need to.

AI guides

CAST has also developed 17 free guides to help you use AI in your charity's work. Each step-by-step guide includes a template prompt that you can adapt with the relevant details, along with practical advice and a wealth of tips to help you get the best results.

The guides cover some of the sector's most common tasks, including generating fundraising ideas, finding grant opportunities, improving website content, drafting emails and newsletters, summarising meeting notes, generating service delivery ideas - and more!

Hosted on CAST’s Worthwhile Chat website, the guides are free to access (with no email address or registration needed) - and can be used with any generative AI tool. Find out more and explore all 17 AI guides here.
