The RBKC Digital Inclusion team is pleased to announce that we have launched in partnership with The Digital Poverty Alliance (DPA) the next phase of Tech4Communities – ensuring that unused technology donated by local people is refurbished and returned to neighbours who need it most.

Last year, residents and businesses in Kensington & Chelsea were invited to hand in unwanted laptops, tablets, and smartphones for secure wiping and refurbishment. 122 devices are now ready to be redistributed. At the time of publication 19 verified requests have been submitted.

Residents in Kensington and Chelsea who need a laptop, tablet, or smartphone are invited to apply now and the device can be delivered to their home or at a community location.

Verifier requirement: The DPA application form asks for a verifier for the request submitted by a resident. This can be a teacher, charity representative, librarian, local councillor, Citizens Advice official, or Job Centre Official.

As a community organisation, you can support someone in need in your community to apply for a device, by being their verifier for their application.
