What is The 2027 Programme?

The 2027 programme was created four years ago with a mission to bring community power into grant-making, helping to shift decision-making power and funding towards the people in those communities.

The programme offers participants the chance to complete a full-time, paid, 12-month placement in a trust, foundation or social investment organisation while receiving extensive professional development from their team of experts. It's an excellent way for talented working-class people to launch their career in grant-making or a related role. 2027 is supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, Esmeé Fairbairn and Barrow Cadbury Trust.

In the last 4 years, more than 20 Foundations or Trusts have taken part in 2027 and some examples include Children in Need, National Lottery Community Fund, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Sport England, City Bridge Trust and NHS Charities Together and many other organisations who provided roles for community-focused individuals.
