Young people aged 18–25 in North West London )NWL) who are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET), are eligible for a free four week Social Care Training and Work Experience Programme, starting 13 April 2026.
The programme will be run by the NWL Health and Social Care Skills Academy in partnership with an accredited training provider and a large social care employer.
Participants will receive:
- Care Certificate training and core mandatory modules (role & responsibilities, safeguarding, MCA/DoLS, communication, health & safety, infection prevention & control, basic life support, moving & positioning, medication, mental health, diabetes, learning disabilities and autism).
- A week of accredited Level 2 units (e.g. learning disabilities, autism, Oliver McGowan Tier 2, medication, mental health, PBS intermediate, nutrition & health, diabetes, falls prevention and end of life care).
- Supported work experience in local social care services, plus learner support and feedback, with the potential to progress towards a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care.
Participants must be able to commit to the full four week, Monday–Friday programme.
