Kensington and Chelsea bucks trend as new Census data shows population fall
The first Census data published from the 2011 survey has shown a significant increase in the population nationally and across London, here in Kensington and Chelsea however we have seen a small drop.

Research highlights the barriers to switching household energy tariffs
A recent report carried out by Kensington & Chelsea Community Enterprises CIC concluded that people from certain demographic groups experience barriers in trying to save money by switching household energy tariffs.

New report shows impact of austerity on vulnerable children and families
The most vulnerable families and their children are being most heavily affected by changes to the tax and benefits system, as well as being hit by spending cuts affecting public services. 

What is an acceptable level of income to join in with everyday life?
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation has published it's Minimum Income Standard which sets out the amount needed for a minimum acceptable standard of living as defined by the public.

Trust for London - new guidelines
Deadline: Monday 8 October
Funding for new and imaginative ways of addressing the root causes of London’s social problems, especially work which has the potential to influence and change policy, practice and public attitudes. New guidelines and priorities for the next 5 years include employment; advice; social justice; violence; and small groups.

GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards
Deadline: Monday 8 October
The IMPACT Awards recognise and reward small to medium-sized charities in the UK that are doing excellent work to improve people's health. Applicants must target community health needs in the UK and have a track record of achievement in this area.

Toolkit on Neighbourhood Planning
The council's planning department have produced a toolkit on how to produce a neighbourhood plan. The toolkit includes definitions of what a 'Neighbourhood Plan' and 'Neighbourhood Area' is, what support is available from the council and guidance on how to consult on your neighbourhood plan.

Artist Charlie Cobb will be exploring the techniques and materials that Leighton used to create his paintings. This workshop is suitable for adults, no experience necessary. There will be the opportunity to mix pigments and paints  and make paintings using the historical methods..
