A conference for trustees and senior workers to come together to network, learn and share perspectives on good governance.

Join us at our free Trustee and Senior workers conference, open to all trustees and senior workers in the tri borough area. It’s your chance to network with business professionals and fellow trustees as well as get up to date on a range of topics. A lovely breakfast will be provided.

Workshops and topics:

Roles and Responsibilites of Trustees, led by Russell-Cooke Solictors
This workshop will cover the legal responsibilties of a trustee and is especially useful for new trustees.

The Trustees Role in Sustainable Fundraising, led by NCVO
This workshop is open to trustees and senior staff members who want to learn more about how their organisation can thrive financially in today’s climate. 

Taking Heathy Risks, led by One Westminster
The Trustees and CEO of One Westminster will reflect on how they went about assessing and managing risk during recent changes in their newly merged organisation.

Business Planning led by the Social Council
This workshop will cover the purpose of a business plan, the process of developing one and the key information to include.

Reading Accounts Presented at Board Meetings led by by CASH
This workshop will explain how to read and understand management accounts and give guidance on the types of questions you should be asking when looking at your organisation’s accounts. 

Building a more Effective and Engaged Board led by governance expert Tesse Akpeki
This workshop is ideal for senior workers and trustees and  will focus on building better communication and engagement amongst trustee boards. It will be run by Tesse Alpeki, co author of Better communication = Better governance.

Employment Law Update lead by HR advisor Caroline Jepson
This workshop will provide a brief update on recent changes in employment law including in the area of maternity and paternity leave, flexible working requests, settling disputes, zero hours contracts and pensions auto-enrolement. 

Who should attend? The conference is open to any trustees or potential trustees as well as workers of voluntary and community organisations operating in the boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and Westminster.
