This interactive, 2.5 hour course on responding to injustice is led by identity-based violence prevention charity Protection Approaches and has been developed in partnership with Britain’s East and Southeast Asian Network.
This is a valuable opportunity to learn how to actively reduce harm in the face of prejudice, harassment, or hate crimes. Whether it's responding to an inappropriate prejudiced comment, de-escalating aggressive behaviour that targets someone’s identity, or addressing harassment, this training will equip attendees with the tools to act confidently and effectively.
Register for this session to:
- Explore what it means to be an Active Bystander in your work or voluntary setting
- Discuss how to stand up for victims in different scenarios
- Learn what you can do when you encounter an incident such as racist abuse or an inappropriate comment from a team member
- Reflect on how you can contribute to dismantling the root causes of prejudice and discrimination, to build safer, fairer and more inclusive communities
This is an online session via Zoom. We can offer a small number of in-person spaces at the KCSC offices (111-117 Lancaster Road, W11 1QT). If you would like to attend in-person, please register as normal, and then email us via [email protected] requesting a space.
Due to the popularity of this training, this session is currently only open to one person from our member voluntary/community organisations. Spaces are limited and will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
This training is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations operating in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is not open to members of the public.
