Understanding and Evidencing Need

Registration is closed for this event
Being able to clearly identify and demonstrate to others the needs you are addressing in your community is a crucial part of project design and fundraising. This session will cover how to accurately identify needs and how to articulate them to inspire external parties.

It is essential to understand the needs of your community and to be able to communicate these to funders, partners and other stakeholders. While these are often all too obvious to us, evidencing them to others can be tricky. What should you cover? What type of evidence is appropriate? From what sources? Does the need you've identified resonate widely or do only a few people agree? This session will cover key questions to help you understand needs, and how they can be presented in a way that inspires and convinces external parties of the importance of your work. This is especially important if you are trying to convince a funder.

This session will be followed up by Winning Grants from Trusts and Foundations (two-part session) on 22 and 29 February. You can book on that session here

After each session, you will have access to one-to-one support from the Organisational Development team, for advice in any areas or subjects you would like (by appointment).

Please note, spaces may be limited to one person per organisation, depending on demand.

This training is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations operating in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is not open to members of the public.
