Black men are twice as likely to develop prostate cancer and twice as likely to die from the disease. In SASH’s Your Health is Your Wealth film about prostate cancer awareness, SASH interviewed seven men and women with African and/or Caribbean heritages, asking what needs to happen to increase prostate cancer awareness and improve confidence to seek healthcare services.
They’ll be showcasing clips from the film focused on barriers Black men experience to gain information, talk about prostate health and when seeking healthcare services, and discussing what needs to happen to improve access and raise awareness of prostate cancer.
Their expert panel includes:

- Elijah Amooti (Independent Health Promotions Consultant),
- Errol McKellar MBE (from the Errol McKellar Foundation) and
- Joseph Olubondun (Turning Point Colleague and film participant).
