NCVO's website has an extensive set of resources to support trustee board diversity. Two helpful places to start are:

Getting on Board, whose mission is to 'change the face of trusteeship' in the charity sector has a wide range of helpful guides for both organisations and individuals. Three recent guides include:

The Office of the Regulator of CICs provides useful information and guidance notes on the role and rights of CIC Directors.
Arts Council England produced a short 'culture change guide' with tips on how to make a board more diverse.
The Charity Commission have a very helpful report providing guidance to organisations bringing users onto trustee boards.
Young Trustees Movement produced a checklist to support organisations in the recruitment of young trustees.
