We’re working with the NHS and local people to shape what future community support looks like for people impacted by the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
Our goal is simple:
To design a community-based support offer – delivered by trusted voluntary and community organisations – that helps improve the health and wellbeing of people affected by the Grenfell tragedy.
This work forms part of the wider North Kensington Recovery Programme, funded by the North West London NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB).
Key objectives
Together, we want to:
- Understand needs – Make sure we have shared understanding of people’s health and wellbeing needs.
- Shape support – Identify what kinds of support would help most and how people want to access it.
- Make it accessible – Plan how to make any support offer be accessible and integrated locally.
How are we doing this?
We’re holding semi-structured conversations with:
- People affected by the Grenfell fire – survivors, bereaved families, and local residents
- Community and voluntary organisations (VCS)
- Health and Social Care partners
These sessions are a chance to talk honestly about what works, what doesn’t, and how to build something better — together.
How to get involved?

What We’ll Decide Together
These are the areas that will be co-designed through engagement:
- The aims and purpose of the VCS support offer
- The name, design, and communication of the programme
- What kinds of activities and wellbeing support are funded
- How delivery organisations are selected and supported
- How people can access support easily and fairly
- How we’ll monitor and learn together over time
Why KCSC is Supporting This Work
The engagement work forms part of the wider North Kensington Recovery Programme, funded by the North West London NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB). This engagement is ICB-led, with KCSC partnering with the ICB to support delivery and help reach a broad range of stakeholders, including voluntary and community organisations, primary care, statutory partners, and local residents.
KCSC’s role in this work focuses on exploring the future role of the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in meeting community needs. As part of this, KCSC has helped shape the engagement questions and overall approach, shared these with VCSE organisations for feedback, and incorporated that input. KCSC will also co-lead engagement sessions alongside the ICB.
The insights gathered through this engagement will be summarised by KCSC and shared with the ICB, who are responsible for making decisions. KCSC is not a decision-maker in this process; their role is to support the engagement and help ensure that local voices and experiences are heard.
