Supporting unpaid carersCarers NetworkBeethoven Centre, Third AvenueW10 4JLAcross London[email protected]0208 960 3033http://carers-network.org.uk/ (Main)Carers network supports unpaid carers in the following boroughs; Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham and the City of London.
Carers Assessment - All carers are entitled to an assessment of their needs, this is quite separate from the assessment of the person they care for.
A Carers Assessment enables carers to think about their needs and find out about any help available to them. The emphasis is on the carer assessing his/her own needs as no one knows these better than they do. Once an assessment has been complete a support plan will be put in place in order to meet those needs.
Carers Personal Budgets - A Carers Personal Budget is a council-run scheme in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea that will provide carers with a once-per-year direct payment to support them to have a break from their caring role.
Support for Carers – Our new Information, Advice and Guidance team will be providing regular drop in advice surgeries (no appointment needed) and a daily telephone advice line that will also be available one evening a month.
Former Carers Project - Carers Network’s Former Carers Project will support people whose caring role has come to an end. It is set up specifically to provide advice, guidance and support to former unpaid carers as they explore the viable options available to them after their caring role has ended.
