WORKSHOPS

Please read the details of the following workshops. You will have the opportunity to choose one to attend on the registration page.

1. Mergers made simple - Sayer Vincent

This session will give you an opportunity to weigh up whether merger is an option for your organisation and whether it would be the best route for your beneficiaries. It will help with some practical information about how mergers are usually handled and the key issues usually faced when trying to complete a merger.

2. Big Society and the new austerity – New Economics Foundation

Findings and insights. This workshop will explore the work being carried out with selected communities in Birmingham and London which enable them to monitor and express their experiences of cuts in public spending and plans for Big Society and what this means in real and practical terms.

3. Measuring impact - New Philanthropy Capital

Why does measuring impact matter?  This workshop will explore this question in detail and how organisations can improve the way they measure the difference they make.

4. Tendering and Commissioning – KCSC, MRCF

This workshop is particularly aimed at small organisations that want to learn more about the process of tendering and commissioning and how they might take advantage of commissioning opportunities. The workshop brings together a panel of local experts including Christine Mead, NHS commissioner, Barbara Shelton of CAVSA and Clement Musonda of the Rain Trust, a small organisation that has gone through and won a tendering process as part of Desta Health and Social Care Consortium.
