Working Strategically with Young People (Essentials of Co-Production and Collaboration)

There is growing demand among charities and funders to involve young people in shaping and evaluating community projects. Part of K&C Together Week, this practical session will cover how to involve young people in your organisation and work in meaningful and effective ways.


Designed by KCSC and Young K&C for leaders of local organisations and/or projects, this session marks the start of K&C Together Week 2024 and will cover:

  • Participatory Action Research (PAR) as a model for working strategically with young people
  • Useful tips and guiding principles to get the basics right
  • The benefits of youth involvement, both to young people and to organisations
  • The challenges of youth involvement, and how they can be overcome
  • How to recognise and reward young people for their time and expertise

Participants will be given case studies and the session will be practical and interactive, with activities and a Q&A.

This session is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations operating in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

If, on consecutive occasions, you arrive late, leave early or fail to attend without providing prior notice at least 3 working days in advance of an event start time, a temporary bar will be enforced on your organisation for a period of 6 months.
