Bi-borough VCS Health and Wellbeing Providers Group

Registration is closed for this event
The session will be led by Lev Pedro and Aimie Cole from Lev Pedro & Associates, our partners in developing a new strategy to place the Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster (KCW) voluntary and community sector at the heart of new structures for planning and delivery of health and care services through the Bi-Borough Place Based Partnership.

Background information

Context

The way that health and care services are planned and delivered is changing in England. From 1st July 2022, all organisations involved in improving health and wellbeing in a local area are working together as part an integrated care system (ICS).

In the North West London ICS, place-based partnerships will play a leading role in the design and delivery of services for the local population. Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster (KCW) is a bi-borough place-based partnership within North West London ICS.

A lot of the changes will take place behind the scenes, with no immediate impact on how people access GPs, A&E or other hospital services.  However, over the longer term, the creation of these new structures will help NHS bodies and practitioners, local councils, charities, community groups and social enterprises work more closely together to ensure that support and services are more personalised and coordinated, can focus on preventing ill health as well as treating it, and target resources to where they are most needed.

Need for a strategy

Working together in partnership has many potential benefits to people and communities. But it is a new way of working, bringing together organisations and sectors with different cultures, and ways of working and lines of accountability, in a way they have not been before, over a bigger geographic area. It therefore requires some planning and thought.

Recognising this, local voluntary sector infrastructure organisations Kensington & Chelsea Social Council (KCSC) and One Westminster are working together with the local Bi-Borough VCSE Strategic Group to develop a strategy for embedding the sector within and across the KC&W place-based partnership.

Process for strategy development

KCSC and One Westminster have commissioned Lev Pedro & Associates to support the co-design of a strategy for ensuring the VCSE sector can play its part as a key partner within the KCW place-based partnership.  Lev Pedro & Associates have significant experience in this type of work, including as associates of NAVCA and the lead consultants on NHS England’s Embedding VCSE in ICS programme, supporting VCSE partnerships within all 42 ICSs.
