Cooking up ideas: Addressing the challenges of food poverty in Kensington & Chelsea report launch

Registration is closed for this event
Join us for the launch of Cooking up Ideas: addressing the challenges of food poverty in Kensington & Chelsea, our new report on the rise of emergency food provision and food hunger in the borough.

In 2015 1.25million people in the UK experienced hunger poverty. And welfare cuts have led to a proliferation of formal food banks across the nation. However, we know little about the community organisations who support and provide informal free food aid to those in need in their communities. This means that many more people experience hunger poverty and are not accounted for. While community organisations are increasingly bearing the brunt of hunger poverty, we believe more can be done to both support the sector and its residents.

The launch will feature expert panel presentations and meaningful debate on our recommendations for the local and national government.
