KCSC's bi-weekly newsletter

In our previous Policy Newsletter we featured an item of social value based on discussions that came out of our Voluntary Sector Assembly held in March this year. If you want to remind yourselves about the content of that meeting, you can read our previous Policy Newsletter here.

Companies that win tenders to deliver council contracts need to demonstrate the social value they will bring into the borough. At KCSC we want to understand what would be of most value for the communities you serve and for your organisation. We will share these insights on what would have the greatest impact with the council and with companies that come directly to local infrastructure organisations.

Companies can deliver social value in many ways, from employment and training opportunities to offering grants. Tell us your thoughts to help inform this work.

A peer network for senior managers from RBKC's Voluntary and Community Sector, with opportunities to share and be informed on best practice in senior management roles and impactful outcomes in the wider community.

Device Offer for VCS Organisations

A limited number of refurbished devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones are now available for voluntary and community sector organisations supporting RBKC residents.

The council's Digital Inclusion team are particularly interested in hearing from organisations that can identify residents who would benefit most from a device and help ensure it reaches them quickly.

Health and Wellbeing

Workshop on 1 September - Hosted by West and North London ICB

West and North London Integrated Care Board are hosting a workshop for community organisations to help guide the future of health and care.

This workshop is an opportunity for VCSE organisations, community leaders, faith groups, residents and people with lived experience to help shape where West and North London should focus effort when resources and capacity are limited. Taking place on Tuesday 1 September.

Free Doula Training

Neighbourhood Doulas is currently recruiting for their free doula training programme, open to RBKC residents, including residents currently placed in temporary accommodation in other boroughs. Apply before 4 September.

Celebrating the Bay 56 Pledge – 1 Year Anniversary

A free celebration marking one year since Westway Trust’s historic pledge to the African Caribbean communities of North Kensington. Join on 3 September for an afternoon of free food, music, games and arts & craft activities.

Grenfell Community Activities Grant

Grants of up to £20,000 over 12 months areavailable to constituted, non-profit organisations and groups to provide activities and opportunities exclusively for individuals and families eligible for Grenfell Community Support.

Deadline: 30 September, 5pm

Walking and Cycling Grants

Grants of up to £10,000 over three years are available to not-for-profit groups and organisations in Greater London for projects that engage communities in safe, enjoyable and inclusive walking and cycling activities.

Healthy Lifestyles Perinatal Programme

Neighbourhood Doulas invite pregnant residents in Kensington and Chelsea to join their free six week interactive programme to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing in pregnancy and the postnatal period.
