Spotlight on Volunteer Centre Kensington and Chelsea (VCKC)

VCKC were set up in 1969 to match local charities and community organisations with local people who wanted to help out. They have since placed tens of thousands of people with organisations that enabled them to give their time effectively.

London on Local COVID Alert Level HIGH

At midnight on Saturday 17 October 2020 London was moved to Covid Alert Level - High.

As the flu season approaches you may find these resources useful.

Financial support under the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme

Those asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace and on a low income, unable to work from home and will lose income as a result, may be entitled to a payment of £500 from the local authority under the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme.

‘Meet the Funder’ - Youth Futures Foundation

Friday 23 October 2020, 10:00am - 11:00am

KCSC are working in partnership with SOBUS and One Westminster to offer a series of online ‘Meet the Funder’ events, available to voluntary and community organisations working in Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster or Hammersmith and Fulham.

The online session will consist of a 30-minute presentation from the funder, followed by a 30-minute Q&A.

This meeting is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations. It is not open to members of the public.

Children, Young People and Families Forum

North Kensington Health and Wellbeing Network

Action Disability Kensington and Chelsea (ADKC) offers a range of free courses to disabled residents living in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea who want to brush up on their skills or learn new ones.

ADKC: Free ESOL class for adults

Action Disability Kensington and Chelsea are offering free English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes to disabled adults living in RBKC whose first language is not English.

CGL: Alcohol Awareness Event

Join Change Grow Live (CGL) for an online Q&A event with Dr Julie Scheiner to mark this year’s Alcohol Awareness Week which runs from 16-22 November on the theme of ‘Alcohol and mental health’.

Impact works to support migrants and refugees in Westminster and West London (although they accept participants living in any London borough). Some spaces are available for participants to join Impact's activities.

Natural History Museum: Half Term

The Natural History Museum have reserved several free tickets for local community organisations, their staff, volunteers and families this half term.

Office Space: Catholic Children's Society, St Charles Square

Catholic Children's Society have two first floor offices available to rent. Both units are self-contained with toilets and a kitchen area and consist of a number of various sized small rooms.

Job vacancy: Social Prescribing Link Worker

One Westminster, in partnership with Central London Healthcare, is recruiting a Social Prescribing Link Worker.

Funding

Care Home Friends and Neighbours: Intergenerational Linking Project

Grants of up to £ 31,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations in England for projects which link younger people aged 5 to 14 from schools and youth organisations with older people living in local care homes.

Gamesys Foundation

Grants are available for organisations who support individuals suffering from mental health issues and who focus on research in the mental health field.

Development and Impact Grants

This-rolling-grants programme is designed to find, fund, support and evaluate promising practice. Funding will go to organisations working with young people aged 14-24 to help them overcome barriers to finding meaningful work.
