Sector News

Reduce the digital divide in RBKC

KCSC and a number of local VCS organisations have been involved in work lead by RBKC Council and West London CCG on digital inclusion but we want to make sure that as many organisations as possible can contribute.

Winter Activities for residents in Kensington and Chelsea

KCSC would like to collect information on voluntary and community organisations' activities in Kensington and Chelsea over the winter 2020 holiday period.

How is local sector intelligence supporting effective public service design?

NAVCA is supporting NCVO and other members of the VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance to explore how data and intelligence held by the voluntary sector is utilised at a local level.

KCSC are hiring!

We are looking an individual to join our Health and Wellbeing Team as Health and Wellbeing Project Officer.

This role will support the Health & Wellbeing Manager in the project-management of Voluntary and Community Sector health and wellbeing programmes funded by West
London Clinical Commissioning Group and lead on the day to day coordination of the North Kensington Self-Care Programme.

NWL CCG and Healthwatch Covid-19 Vaccine Survey

Healthwatch would like to know what the public's view is on receiving a potential vaccine. Have your say, so they can help NHS services understand what matters most to you.

RBKC Medium-Term Financial Strategy Consultation

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council is currently consulting residents, businesses, and other stakeholders on its medium-term financial strategy which will shape the 2021-22 budget.

The consultation closes on Thursday 21 January 2021.

Age UK Digital Library

The Digital Library aims to support people, 55 and over, to get digitally connected and support people to stay in touch with their friends and family.

Shopping service for those self-isolating

Age UK and the Venture Centre working with RBKC and Westway Community Transport, are offering a shopping service for those who are self-isolating, do not have support in the community and who are digitally excluded. 

Office for National Statistics: Census 2021

The census is happening in March 2021.

By taking part and encouraging others to do the same, you’ll help make sure you and your community get the services you need.

Voluntary Organisations Forum

Thursday 17 December 2020, 10:00am - 12:30pm

The agenda includes Karl Wilding CEO of NCVO who will be speaking about the state of the sector in a Covid-19 environment.

This meeting is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations operating in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is not open to members of the public.

Diversity in the Workplace: Inclusive Recruitment

Thursday 18 December 2020, 10:00am - 11:00am

This session will explore why diversity and inclusion matter, and offer guidance on how to improve your recruitment processes, including how to design inclusive job descriptions and how to use the onboarding period as an opportunity to ensure new members feel included from the start.

This training is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations operating in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is not open to members of the public.

RBKC Council Support for Voluntary Organisations

RBKC Council undertook an independent review of the Corporate Services Grant programme in 2020 and is looking to shape a new funding programme.

KCSC are working with the Council’s Community Engagement Team to host a workshop (with 3 different dates available) inviting voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations to be involved in shaping the future programme.

Grant Fundraising for Beginners

This workshop is ideal for organisations new to grant fundraising. It will be delivered by KCSC via Zoom to help you learn how to apply for small grants.

The workshop is particularly suitable for small voluntary organisations or those new to fundraising. Follow up support will also be available.

This training is for representatives of local voluntary and community organisations operating in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is not open to members of the public.

Boloh is Barnardo's Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic family Covid-19 helpline and webchat for those 11+. Professionals can also contact Boloh to discuss how to support a child or young person they are working with.

What if Christmas: 'Christmas in a box'

'Christmas in a box' will go to those in need in K&C, including every family on Free School Meals and each vulnerable and isolated older person. Help by donating, volunteering or spreading the word.

Association of Mental Health Providers

This fund will be used to provide grants of up to £5,000 to support the sustainability of mental health voluntary, community and social enterprise provider organisations, with a turnover of £25-500k.

Mayor’s Resilience Fund

Grants of up to £10,000 are available to support businesses and community groups in their recovery from the coronavirus crisis and to ensure better preparedness for emergencies in the future.

Community Grants

Westway Trust is providing grants of up to £5,000 for projects, events and initiatives that improve local health and prosperity, or celebrate the cultural heritage of the area.

Thriving Communities Fund

Grants of up to £50,000 are available for local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise projects bringing together place-based partnerships to improve and increase the range and reach of available social prescribing community activities.
