KCSC and a number of local VCS organisations have been involved in work lead by RBKC Council and West London CCG on digital inclusion but we want to make sure that as many organisations as possible can contribute.
The project has now been split into four core workstreams:
- Understanding need – Aiming to get an accurate picture of who is digitally excluded (and wants to be included) and the cause/s of their exclusion. Using this information, we can measure the impact of our interventions on our highest priority residents.
- Improving access- Ensuring that those who are excluded have access to a standardised limited catalogue of devices. The partnership will have a shared sourcing arrangement, and it will be supplemented with technical device help if needed.
- Improving access to internet- Ensuring all homes and businesses have good connection (around 30mb/sec), and those who are excluded for economic reasons are connected.
- Upskilling supporting residents to increase their use of digital- Ensuring that a comprehensive offer of digital support exists and meets the needs of different groups for training and the confidence to use the internet.
