Michael has been involved with the Social and its predecessors since the 1970s. When KCSC was founded through a merger of Chelsea and Notting Hill Social Councils in 2002, he was on the board and became the chair in 2005. Since then Social Council moved to the Lighthouse and considered potential mergers. Michael was chair of Response 1980-86 and a trustee of the K&C Foundation for the first ten years of his life.
Michael is a planner interested in strengthening the borough’s communities and increasing community engagement and empowerment. He has lived in RBKC for over 50 years and has been actively involved in planning issues, such as successive local plans for the Borough, through the Kensington Society and his residents’ association.
After 15 years as chair of KCSC Michael is stepping down this year.
