KCSC will be sending out weekly bulletins in relation to the borough’s response to the Covid-19 outbreak – and more frequent bulletins should the need arise – to ensure that there is effective communication, shared widely.
KCSC continues to attend daily virtual meetings of the Community Resilience group hosted by RBKC council, including key stakeholders such as the NHS, Public Health, Volunteer Centre K&C and other local organisations.
The Council’s central helpline is now up and running, and discussions continue around delivery of support for the ‘most vulnerable’ residents and support for other residents who are already, or may become, vulnerable.
The 65-plus service organised by Age UK has now been running for some time.
KCSC, in partnership with the Westway Trust and the Venture Centre, is about to formally launch a food offer for under-65’s in need in the north of the borough. This service has been ‘soft launched’ already, and represents the first step in the finalisation of a pan-borough offer for under-65’s which we hope will be available within the next few days.
KCSC helpline for the Voluntary Sector, agencies and health professionals
KCSC is now running a helpline for use by organisations and professionals wishing to refer or signpost their clients to other services.
Age UK K&C, with many local partners (as per previous updates), is leading on providing additional support for people of 65 and older. Free Care packages with food and basic essentials will be delivered to people over 65 who:
- Are self-isolating
- Live alone (or with a partner also over 65 also self-isolating)
- Do not have local support networks who can bring food and supplies to them
- Have consented to receive the service
Information needed from organisations - what services are you currently running?
KCSC continues to gather and update information from organisations about services that are now in place to support residents and the Covid-19 response, so that enquiries can be signposted effectively, including from the council’s main helpline. Please, get in touch to share this information with us if you have not done so already – email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll call you back or video call you as soon as we can.

KCSC Events and Training
KCSC has decided to postpone its training and events until the end of May 2020; we will keep this under review. In light of the developing situation in relation to Covid-19, and the local and national response to it, we recognise that many organisations are now focussing on service-delivery, and how to meet the additional/changing needs of their service users and the wider community.
We will continue to provide support to organisations through our Organisational Development team; you can reach them via email@example.com.
