Support worker for disabled person - office/ admin support (Maternity Cover)

Hours: 
Approx. 15 per week at times to be agreed on weekdays (job share considered).

The role is based at Action Disability Kensington and Chelsea (ADKC), in North Kensington, alongside Jenny - ADKC's Independent Living Coordinator. Your role will be supporting her with job-based tasks that she is unable to do herself or struggles to do effectively on her own due to her impairment.

General examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Basic (physical) office support - e.g. filing / photocopying / scanning / franking / compiling information. 
  • Support in meetings / training sessions - e.g. preparing the room, printing materials, writing on the flipchart, note-taking, handing round forms, preparing refreshments, clearing up.
  • Organisation - support with making and checking to-do lists, appointments, phone calls, emails, calendar bookings, etc. 
  • Visual support - checking message book, reading out handwritten documents, small print documents, projected presentations etc. 

Essential - you have:

  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Right to Work in the UK + checkable ID documents.
  • UK bank account
  • NINO / UTR number (if working as self-employed)
  • A good level of written and spoken English
  • Skills with Word / Outlook / Internet

Desirable

  • You are a disabled person / have lived experience of disability.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel / Access / Powerpoint
  • Experience of payroll / HMRC Basic PAYE Tools
  • Experience using Pickochart
