Do you want to help provide high quality information and support to cancer patients, relatives and carers? Are you someone that can objectively give opinions on what works well, what needs improvement and how we provide information and support?
Macmillan Support Services are looking for people to join their ‘Patient Information and Support Panel’
What will the panel do?
New information or support materials/ projects for patients will be taken through the panel for feedback; this might be leaflets, videos, web content or just ideas…. Established patient information such as leaflets, flyers or cards will also be reviewed at appropriate times to ensure they remain appropriate.
What will be expected of panel members?
You will need to be able to commit to attending a majority of meetings. These will take place once a month (dates will be circulated in advance) for 1 hour at a time, on a Thursday between 4.30-5.30pm. It will be held virtually using the MS team’s Video platform (similar to Zoom) – so access to a computer, camera and microphone will also be needed.
What experience is needed?
You do not need any experience to become a member of the panel, just enthusiasm for improving information and support. We are looking to have people with a variety of different experiences on the panel so that we can make sure the information and support we provide is relevant for everyone using the services.
You might be a patient under their care, a relative or someone who has never used the services – whoever you are if you feel you could volunteer your time to support Macmillan Support Services to provide high quality information and support then please contact them!
