Kensal Voices is an exciting new multimedia project brought to you in a collaboration between We Made That, The Mayor Of London's Office, the Royal Borough Of Kensington & Chelsea, and Octavia, centred around exploring the heritage and community of the North Kensington area through the prism of podcasting, sound design, creative writing, performance, architecture and the digital arts.
Starting on Tuesday 27 October the project runs across 8 weeks and is open to young people from the North Kensington area aged 13-19. Beginners are welcome as the project is open to all skill levels.
o The first session October 27th runs 11:00 to 16:00 at The Reed, and each Tuesday after runs 17:00 – 20:00
o Each week will see the programme working with different expert facilitators from Rugby Portobello, Construction Youth, The Rhythm Studio, Portobello Radio, Kids On The Green and other partner organisations to deliver different creative workshops
o Workshops will include: 3D modelling and design, animation, performance and creative writing, podcasting, music production and more
o All young people who attend all 8 sessions will receive a £200 voucher, an invite to an end of project party in December, and an end of project trip in January
o The project is free to attend, and each session includes dinner or lunch, but registration is required, and there are a limited number of spaces available
