Health and Wellbeing Lead (part time)

Shak (South Hampstead and Kilburn Community Partnership) is a resident led charity based on the iconic Alexandra and Ainsworth estate in the Kilburn ward of Camden NW London which is an area with high rates of deprivation and poverty but big potential. Their mission is to enable young people and adults to overcome barriers to economic and social inclusion.  They engage with residents through a range of activities based at the SHELL Centre (a well-equipped community resource centre) and the ARC youth club and music studio.

Shak is now looking to appoint a Health & Wellbeing Project Lead who will work with local adults and young people in following work areas:

  •  Lead an innovative Health and Wellbeing project recruiting, training and supporting residents as volunteer “Health Champions” to deliver positive health messages and engage with residents to design new ways to improve physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Co-design and deliver healthy eating and cookery clubs with volunteer Health Champions
  • Co-design and deliver health and wellbeing activities with volunteer Health Champions.
  • Support and motivate volunteers to identify progression routes to employment and further self-development.
  • Build effective working relationships with community partners and health service providers to facilitate Health and Wellbeing activities at the SHELL Centre, the ARC Youth Club and the surrounding green spaces.

Deadline for applications is 31 May. Interviews will be held week beginning 4th of June 2018.
