BME Engagement Worker (Employment and Mental Health)

Our success is through our team of 50+ staff and volunteers, who are passionate and committed to empowering and enabling people to have better health and life choices.There are two BME Engagement workers for this project; one to be based at EACH Brent, Design Works, Park Parade, NW10 4HT and EACH Ealing, and one based at Vine House, W7 3UG. One post has already been filled.Post holders will provide outreach across; Harrow, Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow for the delivery of a personalised employment support service - 'Building Better Opportunities'.The post holders’ main purpose includes:

  • Conducting outreach, promotion and supporting BME clients into employment
  • Actively identifying and engaging a variety of BME employers to partner with the project
  • Engaging and establishing trust with people from BME communities with common mental health problems
  • Establish and mantain satellite offices at and referral routes through other local services such as GPs, Jobcentre Plus and local community groups
  • Ensure eligibility for service, and referring to Twining’s Employment Advisors in the relevant borough within required timescales.

Key post requirements:

  • Experience of working with people with common mental health problems and/ or experience of working with Black, Minority & Ethnic communities
  • Strong needs assessment and SMART action planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (face to face, by telephone and in writing)
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills, including record keeping, administration so as to ensure EACH’s monitoring systems are implemented and required data captured
  • Excellent IT skills, including CRM systems and MS Office applications
