Black History Month - A Walking Tour of North Kensington

Submitted by Fenn Reynolds on

Step into history with Volunteer Centre this Black History Month as you unveil North Kensington's Afrakan [African Caribbean & Caribbean] Heritage.

You will embark on a captivating 2-hour walking tour through our vibrant streets, including Ladbroke Grove, Portobello Road, Golborne Road and Powis Square. Discover the rich heritage and contributions of the Afrakan people who have shaped the area into what it is today!

You will stop at several significant plaques installed by the Nubian Jak Community Trust, in collaboration with local residents and community organisations. Each plaque serves as a tribute to the remarkable individuals - both past and present - who have made an impact on our community and beyond.
