The Worshipful Company of Marketors’ Outreach programme provides charitable and good cause organisations with pro-bono marketing support covering many different aspects of marketing including digital marketing and social media in a number of ways, including advice, mentoring, sharing ‘best practice’ and skills transfer to individuals in the “client” organisation.
The Marketor volunteers who deliver the Outreach Programme to organisations do not do the marketing work needed. The outreach volunteers guide, advise, encourage and mentor those people doing the marketing work within the organisation so they can become more self-sufficient.
Each “client” organisation is different in its ways of working, has different objectives and so has different marketing needs. Most Outreach projects start with a review of the business objectives and the supporting marketing activities which often identity some basic marketing requirements which may not be currently addressed. It is quite likely that any charitable and good cause marketing plan needs to include a digital element that can be successfully managed by the individuals in the “client” organisation.
Words like digital and social media are often interpreted in diverse ways by different people, depending on their knowledge of using these marketing tools. The Marketor volunteer will work with the “client” organisation to identify what cost-effective digital activities are needed to support the business objectives and help their introduction and effective management.
