Covid-19 created a wave of action across the voluntary and community sector as well as across informal groups and individuals at neighbourhood level. From something so devastating we were able to witness first hand why social action is so important. However, the pandemic also highlighted the daily impact, alongside systemic issues, of the reality of poverty and disadvantage, which played out for us all to see and continues to do so.
During 2020 KCSC has held a series of meetings to understand what the impact of Covid-19 has been on the sector and its client groups; we also conducted a survey to gain a deeper understanding of the issues. We foresee 2021 as a year of change given that so much has happened, which will continue to have an impact particularly on the most vulnerable members of society. What we have learnt from all of our fact-finding this year will assist KCSC with planning for 2021 and beyond.
