Staff and trustees at Kensington and Chelsea Social Council were sad to hear of the passing of Jennifer Ware on Sunday 14 April .
We learnt that Jennifer Margaret Ware died aged 87 with her family at her bedside. Jennifer was an active resident of Kensington and Chelsea and had dedicated much of her life to supporting local residents, through her involvement with the voluntary and community sector. Jennifer's involvement included working with with local organisations such as Response Community Projects and St Cuthburt's Centre in Earls Court, as well as the Social Council. Jennifer was part of the Social Council when the organisation merged to become Kensington and Chelsea Social Council in 2002 and was always a strong supporter of the organisation as the years went by. Jennifer was always passionate about the needs of local people in the area of Earls Court and always advocated for improved services in that area.
In 2014 at the Social Council's AGM, we publicly recognised Jennifer's contribution to the Social Council when she retired as a Trustee. Jennifer was interviewed as part of our 50 year anniversary celebrations back in 2010. You can read the interview here.
Her funeral was held on Friday 25 April at St Cuthburt's Church.
Our sympathies are with her family and friends at this time.
