Community Resilience Group - Update 11 February 2021

KCSC has been a part of the Community Resilience Group (CRG) since its formation at the start of the pandemic in 2020.  The group was set up to support the emergency response for the borough.

Public Health update - Vaccinations

  • Commitment has been secured to vaccinate all homeless people and those in hostel settings. 
  • Letter has been sent from NHS England to KCSC to promote vaccinations for frontline workers working with homeless people.  Letter can be viewed here.

  • West London slightly behind other areas of North West London ahead of deadline of the 14th of February to vaccinate all high risk individuals. 
  • Huge efforts in sites across NW London to push up vaccination rates ahead of deadline. 

Food support

  • RBKC noted, following on from the food theory of change process, the first draft of the food insecurity report is due today and will be shared with attendees at that workshop. Colleagues have been speaking to the borough food network lead at the GLA to see what support the borough could access. Also in early discussions about setting up a food pantry and looking at venues in the North and South.
  • RBKC seeking to understand current food bank situation in terms of demand and supply. 
  • RBKC is in the process of collecting data to understand the impact of the foodbank programme.  
  •  The team is working to ensure food provision for the new arrivals into the borough.
