Grants will be available between £2,000 and £10,000 to support projects that use sport and physical activity to address increased levels of loneliness and social isolation that have spiked during COVID-19 due to prolonged lockdown and social distancing measures.
Priority will be given to:
- Projects that work with Londoners who have been disproportionately more at risk of loneliness and isolation during COVID-19 such as (but not exclusively): deaf and disabled people or those with long-term health conditions, people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities, parents with young children, people on lower incomes, and those with limited access to digital technology and the internet;
- Those that already have strong connections in their communities and can reach and connect with people at high risk of loneliness and social isolation;
- Smaller organisations and individuals, who typically find it hard to access funding.
Applications will close at 17.00 Friday 25 September.
